What has MUN done for us?

The MUN club at Peebles High School has expanded its horizons by participating in conferences at other schools. Through these experiences, we have not only sharpened our diplomacy skills but also formed new friendships with peers from different schools and year groups. By engaging in dialogue beyond our own area, we've gained valuable experience in communication and cooperation, enriching both the quality of debate at school and but also at conferences too. Needless to say as a club we have won many awards and with every conference we go to, we can add another fine addition to our collection. 

What is PHSMUN?

  • Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the United Nations where people take on the roles of delegates representing various countries. These delegates debate, negotiate, and draft resolutions on global issues, mirroring the real-world UN. Through MUN, we develop critical skills such as public speaking, research, diplomacy, and negotiation, while gaining a deeper understanding of international relations and global challenges. It both helps us with our education and its also a platform for possible even higher education later in life.
